Volume 7 - Thirty for Thursday
Taking you back to 1993 this week with a house mix I did called Mix for Mic. I'm not sure why I made this for Kevin (or because of him maybe) but the first three songs here were a big part of joy and dance-floor-sing-a-longs in the clubs I went to and played at.

Thirty For Thursday Volume 5
Sometimes I can't get over the fact that the writer is still in high school and writes such great stuff. Other times I enjoy the fact she's still in high school since it's so great to hear the optimism in her voice.
One Sunday I got up and found this post from her:
http://alwaysquestionneversettle.tumblr.com/post/7768463176/just-created-a-mix-cd-for-the-heat-guilty
I recognized a few songs and a few bands so I set out to check out the playlist via youTube and ended up buying a few things on eMusic.
Today's edition of Thirty for Thursday is pulled from her list and starts with a new song that she used for a video project that she's working on. I dig it.

30 for Thursday Volume 1
I was talking to Miss Ellen Melon about her mix CD's ( of which I have a few) and how much I enjoyed the diversity on them. A DJ mix (for me anyway) has always had a steady build to it. Similar songs. I like Ellen's compilations. She said I should make more of my own. With this foray, I have yet to match the diversity, but we'll see how these develop.
30 minutes is about right. My commute to work is 50 minutes but when I think about where my friends are, 30 fits nicely. On the mainland, you may travel a bit longer than that, in Hawaii a bit shorter than that (depending on if you drive the speed limit on the Likelike) and 30 is do-able.
No playlist or complicated instructions this time. One track and I may or may not blend the songs together.
I couldn't have thought of the name if I wasn't already down with Thirsty Thirty. Check them out here.
Download Volume 1 from HERE:

- You Know I'm No Good - Amy Winehouse
- 360 (What Goes Around) - Grand Puba
- Right Now - The Heart Attack
- Make It Last - DJ Jazzy Jeff & Ayah
