Late, but still thankful
I'm not gonna lie: I totally forgot to get this done by Thursday. With only 3 days at work, Thanksgiving on Thursday and most especially heading out to The Shrine on Wednesday night, I didn't plan any time to get this done.
It's done now and given the delays, I chose some tracks that reflect the last few days.
You can listen to it here:
or right-click on this for the download.
Thanksgiving tracklist goes like this:
1. Serene - Jeff Beck (from his 2010 album...one of the things I borrowed from the library the other day)
2. Be Thankful For What You've Got (DJ Day's Edit) - William DeVaughn (thankful for Soundcloud and for Day's edits)
3. I Thank You (Shelter Blaze Vox Mix) - Stephanie Cooke (not really Thanksgiving, but she does say Thank You a lot)
4. 1960 What? (Wicked Jazz Sounds Radio Edit) - Gregory Porter (caught him at The Shrine on Wednesday night with FLX opening up and he was fantastic. I got this from Giant Step but am looking at the whole album on Amazon...so good AND available for digital d/l!)
5. Indigo Blues ft Nicole Graham - Llorca (the Greg Porter had me breaking out this CD for the drive down...such a great album all the way through house, broken beat, downtempo.
6. Thank You Baby - Syl Johnson (another Thank You...this time with Chicago connections)
enjoy, my friends. Love to you and your families.

Back! with Thirty For Thursday Volume 10
Hi again,
The computer is still not at 100% and I lost a bunch of stuff from iTunes with the hard-drive re-sectoring, but I've backed up what I could and am waiting to get a new hard-drive when the prices comes down. Been itching to get another one of these done so much so, that I actually had one done that ended up mostly instrumental, but after a listen, it got a bit boring so came up with a new one. Little more diversity here, but just so you know it starts slow then picks up.
As usual, you can listen/play this:
or right-click as "save as" on this for the download.
Here is the menu for today.
1. Just A Dream featuring Erro - Larry Gold presents Don Cello and friends
(yes...the Erro from here)
2. 30 Some Days - Matt Duke
3. One Tree Hill - U2 (watched a very cool documentary on the making of The Joshua Tree on Netflix and got me wanting to listen to the CD...still love this so much)
4. Can't Hide Love (feat Bilal) - The Randy Watson Experience (look them up)
5. Red Light (feat Q-Tip) - Ginger Rose
6. Abundance - PPP (Platinum Pied Pipers)
7. 7 Day Fool (whiskey barons edit) (cool how that worked out! I didn't even plan it) - Etta James

Treinta y para el jueves - Volumen 9
I'm just heading off to work, but wanted to get this up. I've trying to compile this one for a while...basically an non-english edition. Had way too many salsa/latin choices so I opted out of including any.

1. Melaaz - Non Non Non (france)
2. Gigi - Kahn (ghana)
3. Mayra Andrade - Mana (cape verde)
4. Mana - Mariposa Traicionera (mexico)
5. K.Frimpong & His Cubano Fiestas - Me Yee Owu Den (ghana...damn...I didn't know I duplicated until now...oh well, this one is a salsa so at least it's different)
6. The Sunday Manoa - Heha Waipi`o (hawaii)
Aloha

Thirty For Thursday Volume 8
Almost didn't make it this week. Been out after work every night this week with burgers, the chiropractor and have actually kept the cocktails to a minimum. All that means I hadn't had time to put anything together here. No fear. On the way home tonight, I was grooving to some of the dope stuff that I found on Soundcloud and also a small purchase I made from Turntable Lab Digital and decided to share a few of those.
As usual. You can listen to this:
or right-click and save-as on THIS to download the 33 minute file.
Tracks for the week are:
1. Cut Chemist Suite (DJ Soo's Take Control) - Chali 2Na vs Amerie. Soo on Soundcloud here
2. Pumped Up Kicks (Gigamesh Remix) - Foster The People (yeah...the song's everywhere but it's a clubby treatment from these guys)
3. Love Sick (upbeat remix DL edit) - Gangstarr & John Waddell (found a few Bossa joints in the last 2 weeks) Decades has been doing some really nice stuff
4. California Dreamin' (Ambient Forest Special Branch Re-Love) - Mojo Filter ft Jose Feliciano (another dope remix from that guy that did the Brian Eno remix)
5. Ghost Town (DJ Enki remix) - The Specials (the bonus beats are sick on their own)
6. It Must Be Magic (Lee Cadena Edit) - Teena Marie (lee and Teena are family, she even shouts him out on the edit...he's got more stuff on Soundcloud)
